Your Dutch trainer will tailor your course entirely to suit your requirements and pace. You will practice topics that are essential to your particular job. Grammar and vocabulary will be dealt with as appropriate for your goals. But it doesn’t stop there. Learning a language is about more than just grammar rules and vocab. When you learn a new language, what you need most is words and sentences that you can use straight away. Our trainers only deal with the theory when it is really necessary. Most of the training focuses on real-life situations. We teach course participants how to understand Dutch texts, hold a conversation or answer e-mails. Of course you learn this partly in class, but all participants can also access an e-learning platform with an explanation of the grammar and additional practice material.

We followed the banish course with Claudio, we started with a lot of communication to access and develop my langook as a guide, especially for the grammar, but added plenty of work and hobby related topics. Thanks to the virtual teaching sessions via Webex, I can see my coach. This kind of digital learning is efficient because my teacher can immediately help me when issues arise. If I have to do exercises on the e-learning platform and I encounter difficulties, I just share my screen with my teacher and discuss them. Honestly, it is amazing to have this virtual alternative during this period of COVID-19 and my teacher is excellent and fun! Even outside of my virtual lessons, I am using the e-learning platform on my phone before I go to sleep or whenever I have some calm moments.

Feeling more confident with speaking in Dutch

I find it important to speak the language of the country where I’m working so I can hold a simple conversation in that language with my employees. My language teacher is very professional. She adapts the lessons to suit my learning style.

At the start of the English course, I felt a mix of stress and motivation to improve my English, especially my pronunciation. The lessons involved a lot of work, particularly challenging grammar exercises that required a significant amount of time. Building confidence in speaking English was crucial to me, and my trainer did an excellent job correcting me patiently, which has made me feel more comfortable now. Despite occasional distractions, we mainly stayed focused on the goal. My trainer provided me with valuable tips and tricks, such as listening to BBC 6 minutes English and BBC news, which I plan to continue doing regularly. With each lesson, my motivation grew, and I managed to launch my English project successfully.

For me it was of the utmost importance to get confidence to talk English.

Unlike many apps that only use the Dutch (Netherlands) accent, this language app offers authentic Flemish audio. For trainees in Belgium, this is a real added value: the familiar pronunciation removes an extra barrier.

Trainees really appreciate receiving materials with a Flemish (Belgian Dutch) accent.
