About our course Dutch for medical staff.

Delivering good care starts with a proper conversation. You want to reassure your patients, give them clear information about their state of health and ask them the right questions in order to make the correct diagnosis. You want your patients to feel they are in safe, capable hands.

But how do you do that when they don’t speak the same language as you?

    Could this be for you?

You already have command of Dutch to an intermediary level. That means you already speak Dutch reasonably effortlessly in familiar situations. You are a nurse in a hospital or assisted living centre.  You want to be able to hold conversations in Dutch, and give patients advice, confidence, reassurance and support. If you aim to lend an ear, it is important that you understand what the patient is saying so that you can take the appropriate action.

This course was developed for and by medical staff. That means you will learn precisely those skills you need to do your job well.

    Customised e-learning?

Absolutely! The course includes an e-learning platform with a wealth of information in addition to the hours with the trainer. The platform is designed specifically for medical professionals. You can use it to practice on your own between lessons. In the lessons themselves, we also pay a lot of attention to practice and speaking.

You don’t just learn lists of words, you learn how to use those words correctly in sentences. This course is about more than just general medical language use.

TESTIMONIALS

What our clients, trainers and trainees say.

During my Spuage skills. We followed the banish course with Claudio, we started with a lot of communication to access and develop my langook as a guide, especially for the grammar, but added plenty of work and hobby related topics. I find it easier to digest grammar when I can connect it to something useful and interesting. The course was fully adapted to my learning preferences! Now after having taken several Spanish courses at BLCC, it is much easier for me to follow conversations. While English is still the main language for doing business, I've found that offering Spanish as communication channel usually improves the relationship with my clients in Latin America.
